Must. Die.
TPTB. Must. Die.
Not a slow, painful death; not a fast, quick death.
But a death from which their innermost fears bursts out through their skin and *insert something satisfying*.
*anger quickly reaching limit*
I cannot believe they ENDED the SEASON FINALE of our beloved CSI with...with...
A 'To Be Continued'!!!!!!!!
What the fuck to they think they can pull here?!?!  They think they can just switch from basing eps on 'Reality Time' to a screwy 'TV Time'?? HUH?!

Okay, some anger has been elevated.

Moving past that mental Post-It:

*hyper blissed-out, bouncy mode*
This episode is pure LOVE. *squee!*  The plot line is the work of a Genius!; a HUGE contrast to TGTBTD a couple of weeks back, and a MEGA HUGE contrast to the other craptascular Season Finales of other shows. [No offense.]

Things I want to quickly skim over...[might go further into detail later on]:

They carried along the MCSK plot nicely in this ep, and [surprisingly] gave us the identity of the MCSK before opening credits rolled.  Which didn't really matter, since we've never met her before.  The name is Natalie Davis, a very intriguing name; I have a feeling they're going to do some further back story about Dell and Davis, but, *meh*.  I'm still incredibly pissed about that stupid stunt TPTB pulled on us, so I can't be bothered to explore ideas here.

Moving on; so we get a couple of clues that the CSIs follow to Natalie, which were awesomely done!  They've used a nice contrast between the actual time line and the flashbacks, a little Tarantino/Grave Digger moment in a few of the scenes, detail displayed is AMAZING [the time props must have spent on this...], a couple of pity!MCSK moments, her basic back-story, her introduction to the obsession of Griss and Sara [*snort* like most of us can't relate.  Except for the fact that we don't want to kill them...>.<], the little, 'hidden-face-Sara' abduction moment, the transitions between life scale and model scale, the Sara!Crime scenes...
This is all just...like a fresh breeze on a sweltering day, topped with ice-creamy goodness and a snuggle-bug.
Can you tell, despite the little hook they threw us at the end, I reallyreallyreallyreallreally LOVED this ep?

The introduction to how she was a JANITOR AT CSI was pretty freaky; I almost can't believe how calm Griss was when he discovered it.  I assume he looked at the video footage from the security bank at the lab, but imagine the chills you'd definitely probably get when watching how easy it was for Natalie to orchestrate this entire plan.

I definitely didn't believe the acting; EVERYONE's acting was above and beyond the call of duty.  [Okay, you can't count in the actors who got in maybe seconds of screen time.  Poor them. =(] Brilliant!

Wondered about Sara's Super-Duper Flattened hair, though.  Did they change her make-up artist to the crappy one in charge of the bad hair-dos of Season 4??  Or did they flatten her hair to subtly tell the audience that Sara is as unhappy now as she was in Season 4??  OR, did they just flatten her hair to match Natalie's hair??  OH, the possibilities...

Ooooh! Oooh! The reaction to the whole 'Natalie loved Ernie, and she sees me as the person responsible for taking away the person she loved, so she's doing the same thing to me...with Sara' spiel Griss gave to the gang?  Well, it was exactly what I suspected, so it makes me feel pangs of, well, disappointment, but they had SO BETTER RUN WITH THIS PLOT DEVICE in the next season, or there will be millions of unhappy campers out there in the world.
Against TPTB's small numbers.

Errrrm...the music was beautifully assimilated into the ep; I barely noticed the transition stages, the music was just that good. The overall tone/theme of the ep was consistent to; always a plus.  Especially considering other, shoddy work done in the past.  No large costume changes, most likely because they're saving it for August, when they begin to film for the next season.  I liked the lighting done in Leapin' Lizards better than what they had done in Living Doll [this ep], but I don't think anyone cares.
Do you?

OMG, the moment which will become the pinnacle/catalyst of my CSI/GSR-obsessed life:
That burningly-sexy flashback of Griss firmly gripping Sara's arm, then sliding it down, sloooowly down her arm, before turning and giving her that sexy smile????  *Gahhhhh....* *drool*
*glomps moment*
I wish I could rip this off the ep and preserve it.  Maybe display it next to Ms. Piggy...*starry-eyed*
Addendum [9? min. later]:  Alright, out of everyone I've talked to so far, about 37 people want to do this moment.  /If/ it were physically possible.  Everyone else either wants to tie it up and do dirty things with it, or cherish it. =D]

*sighs happily-contentedly*
*pauses mid-hyper!bounce*
*remembers Evil bestowed upon the Fans*

*anger rises in one fell swoop*
I...*grr!*...just CAN'T BELIEVE they left us with a close up of a potentially!dying Sara [Jorja's bid for CSI-free freedom??  Does anyone have any details of her contract? DID SHE SIGN ON FOR ANOTHER SEASON?!] underneath the previously-totaled car, then slap a big, fuckin' TO Be Continued on the screen.  :@
*eyes flash dangerously*
*slip back into hyper blissed-out, bouncy mode*

Note: Apologies if thoughts appear random! or all over the place; I can't type as fast as my thoughts come to me, SO...*shrug*
Will edit later, I swear.

I am sooo not happy with the cliffhanger and wait either. I'd have liked a Charge of This Post from CSI NY ending better...in that one, Flack was alive but comatose until the next season...well he did squeeze Mac's hand but you get the picture.

I don't think PTB really had a choice what with not knowing how the contract stuff would come out. I can't wait for the fall spoilers, will be so anxious. Of course any contract news will offer a clue as well.

Aww, I don't watch CSI:NY, but I think that it would have been better if TPTB /hadn't/ created a TBC as the Season Finale. Looking back, I kinda remember that they usually ran the Season Finale of the last season a week before the Season Opener of the new season, but, I dunno...I think it's risky, building up all that emotion and angst from Season 7 into a 'half-climax' in the form of the Season Finale, then expect to carry it on into Season 8. Most of the casual watchers of CSI will drift off, or they won't feel that 'link' between Seasons.

*shakes head* Even without knowing how Jorja's contract will turn out;
a) Showing her alive in the SF, then -—without her actually in the Season Opener ep-— kill her off is a stupid way to do it. If they were /honestly/ unsure of how her contract would turn out, I don't think they should have played the Griss/Sara angst element like that. I'm sure there were better ways to do that without forming some second-rate plot device to eliminate Sara from the show.
b)YAY! Jorja's contract was renewed! [Time: unknown, but at least S8!]Whoooooooooooooooooooooooo!
c)*interest* Hey, where do you usually get your spoilers? I used to get them from YTDAW, but ever since they took off the Spoiler's thread due to complications, I've been feeling Spoiler-dry =(
Do you get spoilers from CSI Files? Because I thought they got theirs from the same sources YTDAW did.
May. 23rd, 2007 08:41 pm (UTC)
Yeah usually, I have no idea where they get them...possibly some come from 'sides' which are script snippest sent out for the purpose of hiring guest actors. Or others might have the needed YTDAW access *shrug*

You should give NY a chance, it's pretty good too. I don't watch Miami as much as the other two but on and off.

*squirms* Actually...I did try NY, but I didn't really 'feel' the show; besides, usually, when NY comes on, I'm still at youth group!

*wince* DAMN, I'm so sorry, apparently, the whole Jorja-contract thing isn't definite, although I could've sworn she said something about her contract in that Early Show interview she did the next day...
May. 22nd, 2007 10:30 pm (UTC)
i thought it would continue this week! seriously...i'm downloading the epis so i dunno about the schedule but....noooooooo!!!! i watched it last night ..asfiuchnbcdsiub
May. 23rd, 2007 06:00 pm (UTC)
*moans* I know! THREE MONTHS! *gestures violently towards TPTB*
At least we know they aren't crudely killing off Sara; Jorja's contract was made-up, and now we have Hope. =)

You're still downloading the eps? *comforts* I think there's a LJ community that lets you download a .zip file of the ep...or something.

Grrr, if they give us more Craptastic re-runs...*eye-twitch*
I /especially/ hate the mocking ones....the ones that will laugh at your impatience =S

May. 23rd, 2007 06:06 pm (UTC)
yeah here in italy we're at the 6th season but i couldn't wait (and i love the epis in original language XD) so i searched for the torrents...i use www.xtvi.com for every tv-show i'm watching.

well i'm not a sara's fan but that would be horrible if they kill her...moreover Gris would go nuts and we don't want that XD

May. 23rd, 2007 06:16 pm (UTC)
Oooh! That's kinda cool; I thought that only Australia/Canada/US/UK got CSI. =) Shows how much I know...

I completely agree about the whole Grissom-going-postal theme many were thinking about. I mean, remember his reaction to Nick?? Now, add in his lurve for Sara. I actually think he'd retire and stop working if he lost Sara like that.

Plus, we all love Sara/Jorja; they can't just kill her off like that! It's such a...

Ahh, sorry; the Anonymous post was me =S

Stupid Public server...
May. 23rd, 2007 06:14 pm (UTC)
no problem....i supposed it was you ^^
May. 25th, 2007 02:15 pm (UTC)
I believe you have mastered the art of ranting. And I have to say I'm pretty jealous. My rants usually start out good but lose speed...unlike yours, which are consistently awesome. Yes, yes this IS a compliment :P

Were you spoiler-free?
May. 25th, 2007 02:17 pm (UTC)
Nevermind, just read your comments and figured out you are not spoiler free. Me neither. Grr...stupid CBS lawyers...
Jun. 1st, 2007 03:42 am (UTC)
I know! *whacks CBSLs on head*
I mean, JF isn't asking for anything I wouldn't expect of other actors; that whole stupid contract-screw up in 2005 completely set back JF and GE for raises.

And believe it or not, CBS, not all actors live in big shiny mansions surrounded by pools of money. Some of them actually have to /work/ for a living. *mock-gasps*

Okayokay, I'm done now. Promise. =)
May. 30th, 2007 04:48 am (UTC)
I usually am, but for this ep., I knew something was going to happen to Sara, and that Geeklove would finally be revealed. =)

Oh trust me; I rant /way/ better when it's actually happening at that moment; this particular rant must have taken me 1/2 hour to get down! Like you, I usually start off rather spectacularly, but I end up drifting off into nothingness after my thoughts start re-bouncing off the walls of my skull. But, I usually stop when I feel my power drifting off, go do/watch/read something that will start me up again, then return.^^
It's supposed to be an ineffective method, with all the cutting and pasting I've unconsciously done, but it appears to work for me. =P

I think you should try LJ-ranting; it's a lot of fun, and you'll feel a lot better afterwards. =) In fact, I barely feel any indignation at the thought of a TBC. *hides throbbing vein in forehead*
Jun. 10th, 2007 01:55 pm (UTC)
Oh my god I so totally agree with you. BTW, I saw your post in ydtaw and came over here. I'm in England and we have...Ending Happy next ep., but I know what happens. *grrr*!!!
Jun. 10th, 2007 01:57 pm (UTC)
BTW, I'm going to add you as a friend... because you sound quite a lot like me :D
Jun. 10th, 2007 04:44 pm (UTC)
Awww! *laugh-sigh-pout* I hate when the choice to go spoiled or un-spoiled is taken away from you =( ...
I can't wait 'till you get to the SF!! Because no matter what anyone says, it's so much more better seeing it with your own eyes, plus, you get your own insight into the ep. =) *squee!*

*looks in Inbox* Oooh, I see you posted on ytdaw too! Will run over and comment while catching up on other posts too! [Stupid end-of-year-cramming...]
And thanks for reading the semi-rant, even if especially because you've spoiled yourself to read it, and many other posts by overly-excitable fans. =P

*cheers* Yay, another friend! I'm adding you, too.
